Your Business
How's business?
It's usually pretty slow in August. Lots of Tucson businesses have "specials" or "sales" to get customers in the door. Long-time Tucson retailer Cele Peterson reasoned that if all the promotions had a common theme they would support each other and generate more business. Think 4th of July sales.
Tucson's museums, attractions and its lively entertainment and not-for-profit sector were quick to see potential in Tucson's month long Tucson's Birthday celebration. They have filled the month with as many as 100 events to generate excitement for the whole community -- to give everyone a reason to celebrate what we all love about Tucson, and the many, many cultures and environmental features that make it such a special place!

* Chick Fil A offered a milk shake special similar to one they have every other month of the year. Last August, though, response was so great their milkshake machine broke down!
* De Grazia Gallery in the Sun has a couple of dozen visitors on most August days. But when they celebrate Tucson's Birthday, and offer free cake to the community, they get 200 visitors. . .and thousands of dollars in business.
How can you celebrate Tucson's Birthday?
It's so simple! Do whatever works best for you. Free cake is always a winner. Or you can advertise a special or sale. Help yourself to the free, Tucson's Birthday graphics here to put in your flyers or advertising.
